In line with its Investors in People accreditation, KAT UK a specialist supplier of in-line patio doors and vertical sliding sash windows – has enrolled 12 factory fabricators on the glass supporting industries level two NVQ qualification.
The qualifications are being studied at St Christopher’s Learning Centre, Derby College in Glossop. KAT Manufacturing Manager, David Morgan said: ‘It’s our intention to eventually enrol all of our fabrication workforce for this qualification to further ensure quality of workmanship.’
Fuhr remote controlled lock package fits inside the door
The German-made Fuhr Multitronic 881 (pictured), available ex stock in the UK from Groupco, has a three-channel radio remote control ‘key’ which not only unlocks the front door from the outside, but can also operate a gate, garage door and other entrances – even the lighting in the area.
It is the first time that all the fittings, motor and accessory components – including the short-circuit-proof power supply unit – are incorporated within the door, says the company.
The 12 volt final operating voltage ensures safe and trouble-free integration to this power supply.
