John Hitchener (pictured) has been rewarded for a waste reducing idea that will save his company up to £15,000 per year.

After a few months working on steel reinforcements for patios, John suggested buying in aluminium interlocks at 2.1 metres rather than 2.4 metres and the bright idea netted him £200 from KAT UK managing director, David Richards.

Commenting on his reward, John said: ‘I’m delighted to have been awarded the £200. I’m a keen gardener so the money is likely to be spent on gardening equipment.’
