Innovative shaped cutting tables and computer technology means that the company is able to accurately cut a wide variety of glass shapes from triangles to circles, accurate to within half a millimetre, without the need for any kind of template.
K2's sealed units are not only available in a wide variety of sizes, but also with different glass options from the premium Celsius performance glass to more standard clear or tinted units.
In the summer, Celsius is able to reflect 72% of solar energy, more than three times the amount reflected by standard glass, says the company. In the winter, Celsius retains 50% more heat than standard glass, helping to keep the conservatory warm and reduce heating costs. The unique micro coating also helps to reduce condensation, by keeping the internal pane up to 5% warmer than standard glass.
The popularity of Celsius and the increasing numbers of sales has led to K2 Glass recruiting more than 10 new members to its workforce, including both glass processors and delivery drivers, as well as doubling its delivery fleet. The company is also in the process of setting up a new distribution hub in the Bedford area, which will further increase the K2 Glass workforce, as well as enabling K2 to deliver even more quickly and efficiently to a greater number of installers all over the UK.
Dave Bradshaw, Managing Director of K2 Glass comments: 'The success of Celsius has surpassed our expectations, allowing us to grow the workforce more than 25% in less than a year. This has improved our efficiency and levels of customer service, as well as allowing us to increase our production of bespoke orders. Our improved levels of customer service and ability to deliver direct to site now means that we can turn round an order in just 5-7 working days.
