Set for its commercial debut at IIPSEC in January, JVC’s all-new, nine-channel ‘hybrid’ Network Video Recorder (NVR) automatically configures to operate with JVC brand IP cameras, anything up to four analogue cameras or a network encoder, always allowing for quick and easy installation and ensuring there’s no complex set-up for end users.

The advanced ‘triplex’ feature of the VR-N900U permits simultaneous viewing of recording and playback channels, along with the straightforward viewing of any other connected source. Recording is completed in high quality MJPEG or MPEG4 over LAN or WAN or the Internet at a maximum rate of 120 frames per second (when recording at VGA resolutions of 640 by 480), or at up to 30 frames per second when deploying the higher SXGA resolution of 1280 by 1024. Images are stored on a built-in hard drive.

Any nine cameras from an unlimited number of cameras on the network may be recorded at any one time (with the end user also able to record from any of the four dedicated analogue inputs).

In addition, the Remote Client feature built-in to the Milestone Systems’ XProtect software provides access for up to ten users to view, record and playback images on a simultaneous basis in real-time.

Operating as a network storage and core video management unit, performance features of the VR-N900U include an easy installation wizard, ergonomic front control panel, dual LAN ports on the front and back of each unit, selected joystick controller, PTZ control of cameras from the web browser motion detection and audio support.

In addition, these NVRs offer a scaleable open platform, allowing for the integration of access control, EPOS and ATM systems, remote monitoring solutions and even third party IP devices.
