JTL has further developed its Advanced Apprenticeship for heating and ventilating engineers, piloting it in four regions.

The training provider developed the specialised and comprehensive Advanced Apprenticeship scheme in 2006 to foster highly skilled h&v engineers and gas fitters.

The pilot involves local colleges in each of four regions – Yorkshire, the North West, the North East and London.

The course will allow h&v apprentices to spend 50% less time at college than usual. This means they can spend more time gaining hands on experience.

Frank Kirkham, JTL's h&v framework manager, says: “The programme has been designed to provide employers with proficient workers, trained to meet their specific business needs. If that's not enough, there's always the added benefit to employers that, like its electrical and plumbing counterparts, JTL pays the full college fees and onsite assessments.”
