Officially launched on 16 July at Westminster, the Group aims to encourage sufficient numbers of Lords and MPs to join and subsequently interact with members of the private security industry on topical issues of the day.
Pictured at the launch are (from left to right): Lord Mackenzie (JSIC president), JSIC chief executive Mike Welply, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown (Conservative MP for the Cotswolds), Derek Conway (Conservative MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup) and Labour's MP in Eccles, Ian Stewart.
"We hope that this group will provide a genuine focus for serious debate and discussion on security matters. It should benefit the whole industry," said JSIC supremo Mike Welply. "Members of Parliament will now be able to connect with prominent figures from the private security industry, while security practitioners can take their concerns direct to the politicians at Westminster."
