Architects
Architecture enthusiast and developer Victor Hwang is to take personal control of the Battersea power station redevelopment it was announced this week. Hwang, who has worked with architects including Grimshaw, Ron Arad and UN Studio, will become executive director of the project following a series of delays and setbacks.
SPPARC Architecture has made two appointments. Jacqueline Hall joins from Watkins Gray as a senior interior designer and Catherine Germain joins as a senior architect from Aukett Europe.
Directors
John Anderson, the former managing director of Bovis, has become development director at Parkview International, the client for Battersea Power Station. Parkview's chief executive, Michael Roberts departs the company after 18 years.
Consultants
Consulting engineer Hulley & Kirkwood has made eight promotions: Nigel Yemm, David Stewart, Michael O’Donnell, Donald Wood and Stephen McKinlay have joined the company’s board and Colin Wilkie, Andrew Harris and Derek Graham have been promoted to associates.
Construction and property consultancy, RLF has appointed Glynis Wigginton as the new head of business development and marketing. She will be based at the London office and will be responsible for strategically growing and promoting the business.
Wigginton brings with her eleven years of experience in professional services marketing. After graduating in International Business Studies and completing a CIM post-graduate marketing diploma, Glynis began her career with consulting actuaries Watson Wyatt. She then moved to CMS Cameron McKenna city law firm where she spent eight years in marketing and business development, before setting up her own business.
Contractors
Simons Construction has promoted Richard Donnerstag to director of its fit-out division. Donnerstag joined the company in 1986. He takes on the role from Steve O’Meara.
Midas Property Services has appointed two new directors. Derek Quinn will take on the role of commercial director and joins the company from Connaught’s Serviceforce, where he was divisional operations director. Mark Taylor, the new interiors director, is a former divisional construction manager of ISG InteriorExterior.
