Guidance available on website for picking best procurement method
The JCT has issued a free practice note on its new suite of construction contracts, most of which were issued last year. The 41-page document, available on the JCT's website, covers the range of JCT main contracts and subcontracts. It also includes an explanation of different procurement methods and how to decide on which method.
This new guidance note comes despite some of the new JCT contracts not being published as yet. According to the body's website the suite of contracts will not be published until November this year. The housing grant works contract will not be out until February 2007 while the prime cost contract is due to be published next month.
The JCT is also holding its annual conference in London in October at the Cavendish Conference Centre. The event, on 4 October, will further update users on the new suite of contracts.
