Gareth Xavier, a 20-year-old from Old Basford, Nottingham, is the 2007 winner of the Jamie Loyley Award presented annually to the year’s best apprentice at m&e engineer Goodmarriott and Hursthouse.

Gareth is one of 36 apprentices on the books. Managing director Darron Littlehales said: “This award is all about personal achievement, and in Gareth we have a worthy winner.”
