Security installers and electricians are being offered incentives valued at £600 to attend a Cathexis workshop at the derby head office of Acam Technology.

The one-day workshop is designed to provide an introduction to the Cathexis range of digital video recorders. As an added incentive for attending the workshop, all new ACAM customers will receive a £200 voucher for use against their first Cathexis purchase, and Acam will also carry out on-site commissioning and end-user training on the first successful project – usually priced at £400 – for free. • Optex Europe is launching a series of free training programmes for installers to coincide with the development of new solutions centred around 'active' rather than 'passive' beam technologies.

• CCTV distributor Videcon has been awarded a Gold 'BenchmarQ' customer satisfaction award for the second year in succession.The award is based on results of a customer satisfaction survey, which was conducted in June to August. The survey revealed that overall customer satisfaction had increased since the previous review in May 2005.
