This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by Martin Douglas, director at Pad Design. He says: “The sketch is of South Africa House, which overlooks the corner of Trafalgar Square, at the south-western end of the Strand. Designed by Sir Herbert Baker, the building was built in the 1930s and is grade II* listed. Today, the High Commission of South Africa is surrounded by the ubiquitous urban furniture of traffic lights, security cameras, signs and cones. The spire of St Martin-in-the-Fields church can be seen to the top left.”
