This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by Catherine Tod at the Manser Practice. She says: “In response to the proposed repairs to Hammersmith Bridge, which has been closed since April 2019, as a local architecture studio we held an internal creative exercise to come up with concept designs of the bridge if it were to remain shut. “This sketch reimagines it as a traffic-free zone by connecting the sides of the river through the introduction of a boat service. Meanwhile, the bridge is left exclusively to cyclists and pedestrians, who can feel uplifted commuting above ground along the backdrop of the beautiful Hammersmith riverside.”
