This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by Martin Douglas, director at Pad Design. He says: “This shows the Cumberland Basin, part of the Hotwells area at the western end of Bristol’s floating harbour, where a complicated highway network was constructed in the 1960s.
”Today, the public realm is little used; however, Bristol’s mayor Marvin Rees has recently been promoting a vision to rebrand the area the ‘Western Harbour’, which would rework the traffic system and free land for up to 1,200 homes, as well as commercial and leisure uses”.
