New facility part of Homerton College
An £8.3m dining hall at a Cambridge college designed by Feilden Fowles, which last week was shortlisted for the Stirling prize, has been given planning permission from the city council.
The scheme will allow Homerton College, part of Cambridge university, to open up its Great Hall to a wider variety of uses.
The new building contains an area for provisions in an anteroom to the main dining hall, as well as a kitchen and staff facilities.
The college is located to the south of the city’s centre and close to the grade II-listed Ibberson Building.
Others working on the scheme include structural engineer Structure Workshop, services engineer Max Fordham, project manager Ingleton Wood Martindales and QS Bremner Partnership.
