• Electronically-operated locks, strikes, electro-magnets and handles supplied by Abloy Security are being used to secure offices, retail outlets, function rooms and private areas throughout the new Emirates Stadium, the north London home of Arsenal Football Club.

• To help improve and update security provision at The Møller Centre – the leading residential training and conference venue owned by Churchill College at Cambridge University – Meridian Surveillance Systems introduced an Eventys Pro 16-channel digital video management system from Bewator. 14 cameras with motion detection facilities have also been installed at key locations.

• The functionality of NetVu ObserVer – the powerful video management software suite developed by Dedicated Micros – has been enhanced to support Remote Video Response Centre operation in line with the requirements of BS 8418.

• Custom Consoles has completed the installation of a major M-Desk system for G4S Security Services (UK) at the company’s Operations Centre. The installation includes a V-shaped desk accommodating eight separate workstations.

• HMV – the UK and Ireland’s leading music, DVD and games multi-channel specialist – and TAG Company (UK) have signed an agreement establishing the latter as exclusive EAS and tagging systems supplier for HMV’s 220 High Street outlets.

• East Renfrewshire Council has deployed a GGP Geographical Information System within its CCTV Control Centre. When an incident is detected by one of the 120 cameras monitoring known ‘hot spots’, GGP pinpoints the site for the emergency services.
