On 1 December, The RFID Centre is hosting a one-day conference entitled ‘Improving Security and Asset Tracking with Wireless Solutions in Buildings and Premises’. SMT is the official Media Partner for the event.

‘Improving Security and Asset Tracking with Wireless Solutions in Buildings and Premises’ is the title of a one-day conference being run on Thursday 1 December at The RFID Centre in Bracknell. The effective management of valuable assets can potentially save thousands of pounds on the bottom line, and this event will help to explain how wireless end user solutions can deliver improved protection of both people and property – in turn lowering client costs and improving workplace productivity.

The conference – for which SMT is the official Media Partner – is dedicated to security and facilities/premises management professionals working in offices, banks, warehouses, industrial plants and other large or multi-site operations. It has been designed as a ‘management solutions’-based event that will explore how wireless technologies (including RFID, ZigBee and biometrics in particular, but also taking into consideration WIMAX, WIFI, GPRS, 3G and GPS) might be applied in the future to improve asset tracking and management, access control and employee ID in the workplace.

In addition, a series of Case Studies will be presented to highlight how several organisations – among them the Dixons Group, B&Q and Tesco – have planned for (and implemented) such solutions, and to determine the end result.

‘Improving Security and Asset Tracking with Wireless Solutions in Buildings and Premises’ is supported by The Security Institute, the British Institute of Facilities Management, the British Security Industry Association, The Centre for Excellence in Intelligence in Buildings, The International Association for Biometrics, the Facilities Management Association and, in addition, the Electrical Contractors Association.

Attendance at the Conference is priced at £350 per delegate, although readers of SMT qualify for a 10% discount. Simply quote the code SMT1 when booking your place at www.rfidc.com/security
