Independent security and risk management consultant IJA – winner of the 'Best Security Consultant' Award at the 2003 Security Excellence Awards – has completed a series of security projects at the British Museum, helping to ensure the safety of the 5,000,000 visitors who pass through on an annual basis while safeguarding all exhibits.
Providing the security for such an institution is no small task. Most of the thousands of exhibits are irreplaceable, and many of them beyond price. The Museum's security management team recognises that it's vital the security systems are regularly reviewed. Hence IJA was called in to conduct a full security audit.
The audit included a full appraisal of CCTV, access control and intruder alarm provision on site, and a review of the manned security set-up.
