Innovative electronic technology will be under the spotlight at this year's BSIA seminars staged at IFSEC on May 9.
The seminars will highlight new technology and its practical applications and also examine a number of new standards that directly affect installers.
Says Alex Carmichael, BSIA technical director: "The electronics sector of the industry has witnessed an evolution in new technology over the past years with the use of biometrics, wi-fi technology and ANPR becoming real options for many end users."
Subjects covered by the seminars will include:
- European Standards for intruder alarms and CCTV
- Integration of biometrics
- Visitor management systems
- Automatic Number Plate Recognition
- Wi-fi use, abuse and ID theft
Visitors to IFSEC 2006 will help raise money for the NSPCC, MacMillan Nurses and Oxfam in a special charity wristband collection.
The Be Secure charity promotion is organised by HID, manufacturer of contactless access cards and readers.
ASSA Abloy is the first confirmed partner in the promotion which will invite visitors to collect charity wristbands from the stands of those companies taking part. When four differently coloured bands have been collected the collector can nominate which charity HID should donate to and also enter a draw to win an iPod nano.
- IFSEC runs from May 8-11 and readers can book a visitor pass for the exhibition at www.ifsec.co.uk
