Engineering group set on new direction after posting strong financial results for last year
Engineering group Hyder said it was growing its management and advisory services as it posted improved results for the year to 31 March. The firm saw adjusted pre-tax profits jump 169% to £7m for the period, while turnover was up 26% to £171m.
Chief executive Tim Wade said: "These results reflect further progress in developing our core engineering services while growing the management and advisory services part of our business." The firm said it extended range of services had been helped by acquisitions such as Australian firm Weathered Howe, and in the UK land development consultancy Bettridge Turner & Partners and ecological firm Cresswell Associates.
In the UK the firm said it had won frameworks for Welsh Water and the Office of Government Commerce and had played a significant part in the preparation for the M25 road widening project.
Hyder said it had also performed particularly well internationally with major wins in the Middle East and Australia.
