We asked the HSE what they thought CIOB members should do in situations similar to those mentioned above.

This was its response: ‘When a construction professional or member of the public sees something that they believe is unsafe on a site, they should report it immediately to HSE by calling 0845 345055. They should not attempt to enter the site as they could expose themselves and others to the many risks on site.’
