Housing Today special correspondent Janis Bright won the prestigious News Reporter of the Year award at the annual International Building Press ceremony last Thursday.
Also nominated for prizes were Housing Today’s assistant editor Saba Salman, in the Housing Journalist category, and special correspondent Josephine Smit, in the Environmental Journalist of the Year category.

The judges, who included Michael Rose, chairman of the Building Centre, and Chris Marsh, chairman of estate management at Westminster University, said of Bright’s award: “Janis is clearly close to her subject and has good contacts. Her articles were well researched and well written and her entry left her judges with the firm impression that she is an extremely diligent, professional and gracious new writer.”
