Hornagold & Hills is embarking on a push to build up business in the rail sector.
The firm has appointed three key directors to spearhead the initiative, which will aim to score more strategic consulting jobs for Hornagold.
Robert Baughan has been drafted in from international consultant Scott Wilson. He joins from Scott Wilson's rail business, where he managed major signalling projects in Portugal and advised on high-speed rail projects in Spain and the Netherlands.
He will be Hornagold's director responsible for developing work in the rail sector specifically.
Steven Hayter has been promoted to director for business management. He has been with the firm since 1998 specialising in transport, particularly passenger and freight operator clients and light rapid transit.
His recent projects include a £180m infrastructure expansion programme for part of the underground system in London and the implementation of a revenue protection project for the suburban rail service in Dublin.
Charles Mills has also been promoted to director for business management. Another rail expert, Mills joined Hornagold in 2001 and deals with major accounts and developers. He is currently working in the rail industry on various control centre integration projects.
Nick Barton, marketing manager at Hornagold, said the firm is planning to hire further rail experts and was planning to target the rail sector because it "presents a lot of opportunities".
Hornagold's rail projects include the disbandment of the Strategic Rail Authority, programme management of the London Underground PPP and project management of the Kings Cross underground station redevelopment.
Hornagold & Hills has a £13m turnover, five offices and works in 17 sectors.
