Honeywell’s Access Systems and Video Systems business units have combined to become the Honeywell Systems Group.
The name change is the result of an increased effort to provide its dealer partners with an integrated solution including both video and access components.
The company says the Honeywell Systems Group will be able to more easily join efforts with other business units in Honeywell.
It will be headed by John Lorenty, who was recently named president of the division, and will have its headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Alan Samuels is managing director for Honeywell Systems Group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and is based in the UK.
“Becoming the Honeywell Systems Group helps us and our integrator partners work with end users that require a more global, integrated approach to security,” said John Lorenty.
- CCTV manufacturer AD Group, parent company of Dedicated Micros, has acquired all of the share capital of Hampshire-based D-Tec (Detector Technologies Limited).
Video smoke and fire detection specialist D-Tec has been part-owned by AD Group for the last two years, and is now a fully fledged subsidiary of AD Group.
AD Group CEO Mike Newton said: “This is a significant strategic development for us and we believe it will be mutually beneficial for AD Group and D-Tec. From a Group perspective it expands AD’s CCTV offering into new areas – smoke and fire detection – where D-Tec has a proven track record, as evidenced by prestigious projects such as the Swiss Re building in London.
“In the longer term there will also be tremendous potential for D-Tec’s sophisticated image processing technology to be embedded in DVRs offered by other group companies.”
