11:00AM Firm wins construction management contract with provider Broin

Consulting group Hill International has won a a contract from The Broin Companies to provide construction management and owner's representative services during the construction of the £50m 60-million-gallon-per-year Summit Ethanol Plant located near Leipsic, Ohio. The plant is expected to be completed by December 2007.

Hill will oversee the fuel ethanol plant construction on-site to ensure proper construction practices and a safe work environment. Hill's responsibilities include monitoring the contractor's work, implementing and enforcing all required safety rules and regulations, coordinating construction activities between site contractors and office personnel, and receiving and organizing all material and equipment delivered to the site.

"We are looking forward to helping Broin successfully deliver this ambitious and much-needed project," said John W. Herzog, senior vice president in charge of Hill's Chicago office.

The Broin Companies is a group of integrated technology development, production, management, and marketing companies in the ethanol industry. As the largest dry mill ethanol producer in the United States, Broin has designed and constructed 24 operating ethanol plants and currently have eight projects under construction or development.
