Each side of Thorn’s solar-powered LED concept luminaire for urban areas has two photovoltaic panels flanked top and bottom by a 600mm strip of 10 x 1W LEDs.

The structure is 3.4m high and the rows of LEDs are mounted at 3.2m and 0.9m, providing overall lighting and pavement illumination. The unit operates via storage batteries in the base.
