CCTV users from police, local authorities and the commercial world gained hands-on experience of the latest integrated systems equipment including digital CCTV storage, number plate recognition, access control, perimeter protection and bespoke software packages when installer Securi-Plex held its first open day of the year.

More than 40 guests had the chance to try equipment and software from a number of leading suppliers, demonstrated and explained by the suppliers' own personnel.

Stephen Lawson, joint MD of the Yorkshire-based company, said plans were underway to make the event a regular occasion.
