RICS campaigner to depart firm after recent heart surgery

Jermey Hackett, the campaigner calling for reform of the RICS, is to leave QS and dispute resolution firm Scofield Lothian. A statement from the firm issued today said he would be leaving the consulting arm of Schofield Lothian this month.

The statement added: "On full recovery Jeremy hopes to continue on a part-time basis in private practice on his own account, and will continue his work as a directly elected member of the RICS International Governing Council.”

Hackett started the Stop the Rot campaign in 2003 which fought against the RICS' plan to increase the fees for members of the institution. He has since called for a restructuring of the RICS to better serve QS members.
