To imply that RSLs blindly accept the allegations made against individuals and unilaterally act on some kind of gun-blazing whim is naive to say the least.

At worst, it undermines the credibility of a lot of very conscientious and hard-working housing staff who attempt to resolve very difficult cases. Victims and victim groups will no doubt be equally underwhelmed to be presented as grudge-holding complainers.

The article seems to confuse the pursuance of legal action by RSLs with that of enforcement, which is subject to due process. The use of the word “punish” in the context of RSLs is inaccurate, inappropriate and emotive.
