Narrow sightlined, translucent and high-insulation frames in GRP were one of the new launces on display at the international window and facade exhibition, Fensterbau Frontale 2006, in Nuremburg in March.

‘The narrow frames convey an elegant appearance and allow more light to enter the room due to the larger area of window pane. More light will increase the well-being of home-owners and the sunlight will help reduce heating bills,' claims Peter Kidmose, Technical Solution Manager from Fiberline Composites, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of advanced composite profiles.

No thermal bridges

The development engineers involved in the project set themselves the goal of designing a new window devoid of thermal bridges. GRP material is a highly efficient thermal insulator, thereby reducing heat loss and inconvenience caused by condensation and mould.

A ‘harmonious architectural whole' is formed when the window is combined with Fiberline's translucent GRP facade system.

The Danish Ministry of Culture has just included Fiberline's patented facade system in the list of the finest examples of Denmark's cultural heritage, along with classics like a 9th century Viking ship.
