Growing green: The developer that built the environmentally friendly BedZED project in south London is to submit a similar scheme to Harrow council in Middlesex.

Developer Zed Homes has commissioned BedZED architect Bill Dunster to design the project. It hopes two-thirds of the 220 homes will be affordable, half of them for shared ownership. It is negotiating with a housing association to manage the homes, set to be completed by 2007.

Zed also has sites in Ashford, Kent, that it hopes to develop in BedZED style in the next few years.
