Seeing through a glass darkly

‘Normal’ light levels of 200 lux plus are in the photopic region. Researchers have defined two areas for low light levels: the mesopic and scotopic.

On Tuesday 21 November, the Society of Light and Lighting’s monthly London meeting will discuss mesopic vision and its implications for lighting. The speaker will be Teresa Goodman of the National Physical Laboratory, who is also closely involved in international work on light and vision through the International Commission on Illumination.

Venue: the Institution of Structural Engineers, 11 Upper Belgrave Street, London SW1, 6.00 pm (tea/coffee from 5.30pm). All welcome, no need to book.
