£10m job in Tonbridge wins planning permission

CM Parker Browne is celebrating planning permission being awarded on a £10.3m project for Tonbridge School.

The scheme comprises a combined sports and media centre that will be built on the site of the school’s existing swimming pool, which is 30 years old.

The sports centre will incorporate a six-court sports hall and a 25m six-lane pool, plus a bar and social area. The media centre will offer two interview rooms and an editing suite to enable staff and pupils to record and beam live broadcast television, film and radio productions.

CMPB was appointed project manager on the scheme in April 2005. The QS and planning supervisor is Bristow Johnson & Partners and the architect is Limbrick.
