Fabricators and Installers familiar with the gold finish on many Roto hardware items will notice a big change in the appearance of the products over the coming months, as the company introduces a new surface treatment to all of its window and door locking systems.
RotoSil will replace the previous RotoNor finish and has been introduced as a result of Roto’s continuous assessment of its effect on the environment. The raw materials used to create the RotoSil finish will no longer involve the use of Chromium six.
The new finish meets the requirements of Grade 4 of EN1670:1998, designated as very high resistance and meets the anti-corrosion requirements of RAL607/3.
RotoSil will have a more contemporary silver finish, giving hardware an appearance similar to that of stainless-steel.
The switch to RotoSil is currently underway, with application to the entire range of Roto hardware planned to be completed by the end of this year.
