ASHRAE President Kent Peterson presents the Graduate of the Year award to Richard Unwin, who gained a first class honours BEng in Building Services Engineering this year and has been named as CIBSE ASHRAE (H&V News) Graduate of the Year (sponsored by Denco).

Five finalists from universities across the UK and Ireland competed for the prestigious award. The immediate prize was a trip to New York to attend an international engineering conference.

The final, held at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers on 11 October, was attended not only by the presidents of CIBSE and ASHRAE but a number of industry leaders as well.

Richard was pitched against other finalists from the University of Durham, Dublin Institute of Technology, the University of Ulster and the University of Manchester.
