The Glass Processing Days Conference (GPD) returns to China in conjunction with the China Glass Expo in Beijing in April 2006.

China Glass is scheduled for April 25-28 and the GPD seminar will be held immediately before that to ensure that effective participation in both events is possible. ‘This time there will be two parallel sessions, one very practical for processing, and the other on markets and construction trends, tailored for top management’, says Jorma Vitkala, Chairman of the Conference organising committee.

The main theme is the use of high quality safety glass in buildings to improve energy management, safety and security. The fast economic development in China, booming construction and the overall expansion of business and technology make it very important for the international business community to keep a close eye on this market.

The programme also includes factory visits to local Chinese-owned glass industries to familiarise participants with the practical implications of market-oriented glass production in China today.

The main supporter of GPD, Tamglass Ltd, has operated its assembly unit in China for a number of years and has built up a strong understanding of the local market mechanism.

Prospective speakers are invited to submit proposals in the form of abstracts to the organising committee.
