This year’s event offers unrivalled insight into the latest products and services in the m&e world. A host of exhibitors as well as a series of seminars throughout the two days on 10-11 October make this a show not to miss. The M&E Event runs alongside three other exhibitions: the AMPS Power Expo, E2 Energy Solutions Expo and Total Workplace Management – see you there.

M&E Event 2007 SummitSkills Training Academy

The overall theme for this year’s training academy, sponsored by SummitSkills, is a practical approach to sustainable design, construction and operation of buildings. The sessions, spread over the two days, will examine how the industry can achieve what needs to be done in making buildings more efficient. This will include a wide range of areas including design, installation, maintenance and property management.

Colt International - Stand A160

Colt International will be launching Caloris, its WRF (water refrigerant flow) air conditioning system, at the E2 Energy Solutions Expo.

WRF utilises heat pump technology to provide high performance output, while minimising the use of environmentally harmful refrigerants – thus beating the F-Gas Regulations. It uses a neutral water pipework system to provide simultaneous heating, cooling and heat recovery, and is compatible with ground source heat pump technology.

On the first day, Colt will present one of the show’s many seminars: Heat pump technology: will ground source energy displace air source? It takes place from 14.30 to 15.10 in seminar theatre A.

A range of other energy efficient products from Colt will also be on display.

Concord:marlin - Stand B90

Visit Concord:marlin’s stand to learn about the Kometa 300 RGB, a new concept in lighting for corridors and circulation areas. Kometa 300 RGB offers a dual lighting package with a 26 W TC-TEL compact fluorescent central downlight and also incorporates an array of 90 LEDs: 30 Red, 30 Blue and 30 Green, hidden within the outer diffuser ring.

Controlled by DMX, luminaires can be synchronised or independently programmed to provide either static colour effects or to cycle through colour-changing sequences.

A vast array of colours is available.

CPV - Stand C121

This year CPV returns to M&E with its new Floway system. Complementing the CPV-Zurn system, the Floway offers a complete solution for below ground chemical and hazardous waste, including drainage pipes, manholes, inspection chambers and holding/neutralisation tanks.

CPV will also showcase CPV-Safeflo, its new dual containment pipe system. CPV-Safeflo provides the optimum solution for the safe conveyance and containment of hazardous and high temperature fluids containing any pipe service material, plastics or metals.

In addition, the company will be presenting its range of Hiline, pre-insulated pipe systems, traditionally used for buried heating mains but now also for above ground building services.

Evinox - Stand A145

Evinox is launching its new commercial condensing boiler range at the show. The boiler is available in six sizes with wide ratio modulating outputs up to 484 kW. It is one of the few boilers in its category to have the four star NOX rating in accordance with EU Directive 92/42/EEC.

The compact design and pre-mix downward firing burner principle means that the largest output model uses a floor space of only 0.7 m². All models are complete with a built-in microprocessor with optimiser and compensator to accommodate one heating zone and one hot water zone.

G4Tec - Stand A51

G4Tec announces the release of its improved Symmetry Video Management software and Symmetry Edge Network Video Server.
The enhanced event recording feature allows users to record video just seconds before and after an event.

Security operators can view every camera on their system using multiple camera views on the video matrix. Now Symmetry Video offers a second video matrix, allowing operators to view up to 72 camera images.

Lochinvar - Stand B150

Lochinvar is showcasing the ECOForce+ gas-fired condensing water heater. Featuring a patented cold-water injection system, which enables almost continual condensing mode operation, ECOForce+ provides maximum performance for the user and up to 108% net thermal efficiency.

Another new product, the TurboCharger, works on the proven principles of low storage and fast hot water recovery, extracting otherwise wasted heat via a triple pass flue.

Enquiries 173

Megger - Stand B43

Megger’s time-saving testers will be on display. With most instruments, the whole process of walking between the RCD and the tester must be repeated for each of the five tests. As the RCD and socket are usually some distance apart, this can be very time consuming.

Megger’s latest instruments, such as those in the MFT1550 series, offer automated RCD testing. With these, the user plugs the tester into the socket just as before and then initiates the test sequence. They walk to the RCD and, every time it trips, resets it. Each time it is reset, the next test in the sequence is started automatically – there’s no need to return to the instrument to initiate it.

Polypipe - Stand C113

Polypipe introduces its Terrain Acoustic dB12 at the exhibition. The product is a complete drainage system designed to eliminate noise. It substantially beats the sound performance required by the Building Regulations.
The multilayer drainage pipe with acoustic fittings was developed specifically to meet construction requirements for an increased level of soundproofing and is ideally suitable for hotels, theatres, cinemas and hospitals. Visit the stand for a look.

ScaleStop - Stand B86

ScaleStop recently announced the launch of the Next-ScaleStop Physical Water Conditioner, which will be on show for the first time at this year’s M&E Event. ScaleStop makes use of a new technology known as template assisted crystallisation (TAC) to seed the hot water services with calcium carbonate crystals. These cause the scale to form in suspension in the water in preference to encrusting surfaces.

ScaleStop is plumbed into the water supply and requires no chemicals, no power supply nor any kind of magnet or other external energy source. It generates no waste, requires no regeneration, no maintenance or servicing.

ScaleStop’s highly efficient media means that its footprint is roughly 25% that of a conventional softener while its effectiveness at preventing scaling is a near perfect 99.6%.

Enquiries 176

Tek-Air - Stand GLC 131

According to Tek-Air, the newly launched AccuValve electronic airflow control valve is the first revolutionary innovation in critical airflow management for 40 years, offering fast-speed response, low pressure drops and linear accuracy.

As air enters the AccuValve, it is divided into two equal airfoil-shaped compression chambers to create a laminar airflow. The laminar airflow is now at a higher velocity to allow for a greater turn-down of up to 8:1.

Come and have a look for yourself.
