In PC format, it delivers a course designed to introduce the new European Standard EN5031 and enables installers to understand its implications. It applies the standards to installations and identifies areas common to both British and Euro standards.
Elements of the course cover system components, security grading, environmental classification and power supplies.
The training programme covers fourteen sections in its entirety and allows installers to learn at their own pace. It saves progress at the end of a training session and resumes from that point at a later date. There are interactive learning exercises throughout and a mastery test at the end where learners can obtain SITO certification.
For organisations there is an administration system installed to monitor employee progress.
Similar SITO projects due for completion in the summer include CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarms programmes.
