4:45PM Work already underway on £25m scheme for Shearer Properties/Delance
Gleeds is celebrating getting planning approval for a £25m redevelopment on Regent Street, in London’s West End. The firm is cost manager and planning supervisor on the scheme, which is located in the listed building formerly occupied by House of Fraser store, Dickens and Jones.
The three storey building is to be refurbished to house a number of stores, high quality office space and a new roof level restaurant. One of the retailers will be clothes shop H&M.
Work has just started and is scheduled for completion in early 2008. The project is a joint venture by Shearer Properties and Delancey.
John Murray, managing partner at Gleeds, said: “This redevelopment is in one of the prime locations in London and we are delighted it has been given planning approval. There are challenges involved with it being a listed building but it will be an interesting contract to work on.”
