It’s Glasstec time again, but if yours is a glass business, you really don’t have to trek over to Germany to wander through exhibition halls full of cutting tables and other processing kit.

But so many people do, and it looks like the exhibition will top the 54,000 visitor mark. What makes Glasstec so successful? Well, it brings together disparate sectors of a common industry (do we care about bottles – no!) and shows the new developments first.

Most importantly, it provides a meeting place for people who are otherwise too busy or located too far apart. For these reasons, we all look forward to it.

This is an achievement that this magazine, and a certain UK exhibition can learn from. We look forward to meeting you over there.
