Glass fusing outlet in doors

Recent investment by SGD has led to increases in its product portfolio for composite door companies. SGD has been working hand-in-hand with RegaLead, particularly on the Fusion range of tiles which feature prominently in its designs. SGD’s European Projects Manager, Jeremy Town, says: ‘Some stunning results have been achieved by combining the tiles with glass bevels, coloured enamels and interesting backing textures that have never been used before. We thrive on innovation.’

The Fusion collection consists of fused glass tiles which can be bonded to glass to create eye-catching decorative effects for door panels, as well as other applications like glazed partitions and furniture.

RegaLead offers 48 designs of fused glass, but there are just 10 colours used, which leads to easy mixing and matching of tile styles in co-ordinating colourways. Each tile is made from 3mm clear glass cut to shape and then heat fused with a 3mm tile of coloured glass.

Jeremy says that the RegaLead products were chosen mainly for the quality of design of the fused tiles. ‘Unlike the traditionally abstract fused glass designs, RegaLead offered a product that looked great and was contemporary. The designs are what will make this product a success – they offer a real feeling of luxury and class, and are modern enough to appeal to the UK market.’

SGD is a specialist in all areas of decorative glass, and focuses its attention on producing exclusive and innovative glass designs for the entrance door industry.
