Bohle’s innovative Glass Buddy (above) was shown at Glasstec 2006 as a single electronic device to analyse the characteristics of glass panes. Previously, several devices were required to obtain information, such as the thickness of the glass, the glass construction and the possible coating. Bohle’s Glass Buddy does it all with just one device.

According to Gary Dean of Bohle UK, the product offers time and cost savings. ‘The Glass Buddy gives the public a universal tool that allows the measurements of single pane, laminated glass and insulated glass panels up to 50mm thickness,’ he comments. ‘The device even analyses installed multi-pane insulated glass units.’

The Glass Buddy works by calculating the refraction index, recognising coatings and PVB films and determining their positions, with an accuracy of up to 0.1mm.
