Having had over 35 years experience on all sides of the building industry, my career has been underpinned by what I consider to be the three basic elements of QS – construction, measurement and contract; irrespective of the profession’s obsession with trying to reinvent itself.

Educational establishments are generally focused on ensuring students obtain a qualification rather than training them for industry.
