Gate expectations: A 25-storey tower providing 200 flats has been granted planning permission by an Newham council, east London.
Stratford Gate, to be built at the junction of Stratford High Street and Warton Road, will include 30% affordable housing, three live-work units, a gym and shops.
It was designed by architect Broadway Malyan and will be developed by Barratt East London.
Ken Livingstone, mayor of London, said: "[This is] an opportunity to provide a quality landmark at the gateway to a major regeneration area."
The project was granted planning permission by Newham council on 8 October. The developer would not disclose the cost.
