Firm on team to build 192-metre high, Libeskind-designed luxury flat complex in Warsaw

Gardiner & Theobald has won a role as project and cost manager on a striking new tower planned for the centre of Warsaw in Polnad. The scheme, called Zlota 44, for client Orco Property Group is designed by architect Daniel Libeskind, who is of Polish descent. The shape of the 192-metre high tower, which will house over 250 flats, resembles an eagle's wing, the symbol of Poland. Construction is due to start in January 2007 and is expected to last 29 months

Nearer to home, G&T is the construction manager on a scheme to refurbish Pimlico's district heating system. The firm has appointed SES to work on the £2.5m scheme to design and install three boilers and two CHP engines at the Pepys estate north of the river Thames. The new plant will replace one adjacent to the Battersea Power Station.
