The results of intensive development on Profile 22’s fully integrated system of windows and doors will be evident at Glassex, with innovations on several fronts including the 60mm and 70mm profile ranges, composite GRP doors, PVC-U-clad curtain walling, hardware, and the Trade Lynks support scheme
In the three years since Profile 22 last exhibited at Glassex, there have been unparalleled changes in the industry and in the business itself. The company has adapted to challenging market conditions, as well as to a more difficult economic climate. Product advances have been introduced to meet the demands of the market, while measures such as FENSA registration, thermal efficiency, disabled and fire access have all had to be adapted to. Increasing polymer prices have called for measures to improve manufacturing efficiencies to maintain competitiveness. Profile 22 has concentrated on closer relationships with fabricators, installers, and customers in order to contribute further success.
Two new profile suites
The advances and breakthroughs achieved in the intervening years are on a wide scale. The entire profile range is now pre-gasketed with Bubblex. A new curtain walling system has been launched, 60/70mm composite door frames have been introduced, and brand-new profile suites in 70mm are to be launched at Glassex. Added to these is Trade Lynks, a Profile 22-funded support scheme for both fabricators and installers.
Among these significant new products are two new profile suites, FS70, offering an aesthetically-appealing traditional 'sculptured' finish, and FB70 offering a contemporary double bevelled design. Both systems feature slim sightlines that combine with the outstanding thermal efficiency, easy-to-fit, and quality characteristics of the fully integrated Profile 22 60mm and 70mm systems. Both systems offer an attractive combination of modern and traditional lines. The addition of these new ranges means that Profile 22's fully integrated system can now enable any window to be made to meet the exact needs of any market or customer.
GRP ‘Safedoor’
The changing requirements of the public sector are addressed through a new range of composite GRP doors branded as Safedoor. This is a package of three components: door leaf, frames, and hardware. The new range is targeted at the local authority, housing associations, and related markets.
Another result of the development programme is Safeware, a range of window and door hardware to complement the Profile 22 suite. It is a high-security range that can be delivered at the same time as the profile to minimize paperwork. It now makes it possible to choose the appropriate security from standard to high.
To extend the company’s window and door system into the commercial sector, Profile 22 has introduced a PVC-U-clad curtain walling system. This high performance curtain walling offers increased choice and flexibility for large fenestration screens, especially in refurbishment and new build sectors. It is ideal for properties where large glazed areas are involved. The system can accommodate the full range of Profile 22 60mm and 70mm profiles, permitting a much wider choice of products, while conferring long-term maintenance and cost benefits.
Due to the increasing popularity of composite doors both in the retail and public sectors, there will be two new frame systems on show at Glassex, including a range of complementary hardware: CD60 and CD70 provide solutions for both frame depths.
Discounts scheme
Profile 22’s emphasis on support services for fabricators and installers is reflected in another development: the inception of the new Trade Lynks scheme. Membership provides considerable business operational benefits, extending and tailoring support services for fabricators to the specific needs of installers. Members are offered discounts on essential equipment, a helpline for specialist technical advice, professional marketing support and incentives such as loyalty bonus discounts.
