Timber-frame maker Eleco Timber Frame’s system ElecoFrame has been specified by Hemlock Construction for use in The Gallery, an 82-flat development in Manchester.
The company says that ElecoFrame differs from conventional timber frames in that it eliminates the use of sheathing boards on the outside of wall panels, by using nail plates and diagonal bracing to improve rigidity. Eleco intends the system to minimise construction time, improve site logistics and reduce cost. The system uses Ecojoist and ElecoFloor engineered timber products and, once erected, can be used with any external cladding material.
