A Luxalon aluminium open cell ceiling from Hunter Douglas has been fitted at the refurbished Kingfisher shopping centre in Redditch.

Based on a system called the Hunter Douglas Luxalon Cell T15, the ceiling is lightweight and designed to allow light to filter through. It can also conceal lighting, smoke detectors and sprinklers within its void. It comprises aluminium U-profiles on a 15mm wide T-grid, with panels measuring 1200 × 600mm. The company says the system offers a solution for areas that need suspended ceilings but have to retain original room volume for air-conditioning or fire safety.
