Technal’s structurally glazed curtain walling system has been used for the first time in the UK on the refurbishment of a sixties building at the University of Sunderland.
Designed by architect FaulknerBrowns, the facade has rectangular bays, some projecting out, that incorporate coloured, clear and opening panels The company’s MX SSG structural glazing system was used to form the projecting bays. It also enables an offset arrangement of transoms and mullions within the bays incorporating the glazing.
