Sketch of the week: Residential building in conservation area

This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by Chris Robinson, partner at Aldington Craig + Collinge.

Robinson says: “The client, a developer, stated a desire to commission a bold, new residential building in a ‘very conservative’ conservation area. Initially rejected by the planning committee of London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea as too contemporary, the application was successfully overturned on appeal and is now built. The building has been shortlisted for a Civic Trust Award with a decision on the outcome imminent.”
