This sketch by Ron Slade, one of the founding structural engineers of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff. Straight from his new book, which includes a career’s worth of sketches, this drawing shows the completed redevelopment of Knightsbridge Crown Court in London.

He says: “Even in a technological age sketching remains a very important and practical part of the design process. I particularly like drawing as it helps me to think and envision a project.”
